Finish the Wall is planning a trip to Nicaragua in 2018! I want to get a jump on the fundraising because Hannah will be going with me this time! I have been on several Finish the Wall trips and they are always very rewarding because I get to use my construction skills to serve God and the people of Central America. It is humbling to serve with other believers in a country where the people are so gracious and thankful when they have so little. This will be Hannah's first trip out of the country and an experience of a lifetime for her to serve others and experience a lifestyle not obsessed with consumerism. Finish the Wall is headed to Nicaragua in 2018 to complete a church in Santa Matilda, Nicaragua. The church was planted by the leaders of New Song Mission Nicaragua, a ministry Finish the Wall partnered with in 2013. Pastor Walter Varelas and his wife Claudia, lead a church that has been under construction for 8 years and serves a large number of children in the community. Programs such as school reinforcement, a feeding center, recreational activities, and education programs, are all a part of their vision to provide a healthy place for people to be taught the Word of God.
There will be four teams in January and February 2018 to complete:
- The roof structure of the existing facility
- Two multi-purpose classrooms
- Two bathrooms and a kitchen
- The existing storage area and the security wall around the facility.
- The electrical, plumbing, and septic systems.
